Wow this is a wide opened theme! I have just dozens of idees poping up !
-
I'm guessing the theme coincides with the month when we celebrate U.S. independence day Happy 4th!
-
Here is my Independent illustration, hope you'll like it .
-
Nice one @Jose-Ramos, thanks for getting this going!
-
This is the first vision and purest form of 'independent' for me. Everyone has a child within us and I imagine her to be like this. CareFree. Independent. Happy.
-
@pn as a parent, this scares me to death! haha!
-
Interesting topic
well now I have to participate after missing June. -
@pn
@Lee-White its imaginary, 'living on the edge' kind of moment. -
Here is my entry into this months competition. It is what I had when I became Independent.

Had fun with this one! Hope you can find Mr. Independent! I think it "screams" of Summer! Once the idea came to me , I had to "jump" right in. Okay okay I'm done. Enjoy! #thisislike4picturesinone

Here's my entry for this month.

Submission for the July Independent contest. "Spread Your Wings"!
-
@eric-castleman This one made me smile, so creative-great job!
-
This is my, "Independence," submission. The flag of course is a symbol for sovereignty and independence. This happens to depict a scene from my local park where the flag guards a bench that is dedicated to the memory of a local military service member. Painted using the Procreate app.

@smithdraws Hi Joshua, This looks to me like an altered photo using a filter or painted on top of a photo. I would use this photo as a guide and create an image based on it. Using this as reference can solve many problems that a photograph like this has. Some of those things are shadows going too dark, too much contrast, strange things in the image like the path on the right, etc.
-
@lmrush That's nice to hear! I'm happy it made you happy
-
@lee-white Thanks for your critique. You have some valid points and I'll kee them in mind.

I do not really have time to do a color illustration....but the prompt inspired this image and I could not resist putting it on paper...so just a quick inking piece.
In case zoology is a long way in the past, the hermit crab finds and inhabits shells from other animals and often carries a sea anemone around in what is supposed to be a mutually beneficial relationship.... -
Ok, here is my 'independent.' I figured an ostrich wants the independence of flight most of all, so away he goes. I'm really enjoying participating in these prompts and forcing myself to get faster in the painting process.
Thanks
