The story being that a crayon's worst fear is being left in a hot car and melting, and that is giving him nightmares.strikethrough text

Don't think the text is needed. Also, instead of him driving, just have him lying in the console with a gear shift breaking the plane of his dream, or in a seat with a seat belt near him, maybe some crumbs, and a maybe even a crayon that has already "passed on".

And now that I look at it, I don't think meant for him to be driving, but beating on the window, or waving his hands, correct? If that is the case, come at it from an angle above him, outside the car, looking in to the backseat of a car, with some crayons already melted, or half melted and stuck to the seat, reaching out for help. Use strong shadows to emphasize bright, noon day sun.

I just wasn't feeling the first concept, so after some thought, I decided to go back to the drawing board. So I'm going to work on my own worst fear... the open ocean. Also... I think my daughters' contributions only improve the drawing 😛

like this so far, though I am a bit bummed that we don't get to see the crayons in peril.
