        Great idea! I still haven't decided if I would participate this year or not. I have so many projects going on at the same time. But doing the sketches in advance is definitely a good idea!!

          @nowayme That's what I thought! I felt like I was doing too much each day last time... but also my inking skills have come a loooong way in the last year, so that will also help XD

          @Kat @Laurie @bharris thank you!

            I was inspired by your idea of Sketchtember and Inktober and I've come up with a short story based on the official Inktober prompt list. Each word off the prompt list will be the basis of the scenes for the story. I'm a little scared to do it but, I figure if I do Sketchtember and do rough sketches of 2 scenes from my story each day, it might be manageable. I don't know if I'm biting off more than I can chew, and I'm afraid the story might be dumb, but I thought I'd give it a go anyway.

            Here are some very rough sketches of the first two scenes and a start at character concepts.

              @tessw looks good so far, and a neat idea. I think if you discipline yourself, and only stick with ink (no major shading, color, etc) it should be doable. And ixna on the "my story might be dumb" talk. Thinking like that will only hurt your motivation to finish. Good luck!

                @tombarrettillo Thanks! Good points. I think I might work on simplifying the style as well. Thanks for the
                much needed guidance.

                  (I'm not saying you don't know) this is called concept art, where you take an idea and make usually rough but almost finished and designed pieces to show off the idea. This is used a LOT in the video game and animation industries and range from environments, characters and even specific objects, like vehicles and weapons. I love your idea, but I wonder what you could complete making a whole series of concept art based on a story or idea, and see how far you can breakdown the idea as a way to push your creativity skills, and not just your hard skills.

                  Anyway that's just an idea. It's probably better as a big personal project, but I thought it was nice to get inspired by sketchtember. I love your work!

                    @ben-migliore It is pretty much concept art for my own project! I have another big project that gets priority right now, but it's on the verge of wrapping up in the next few months, so I'm sort of considering what I'll do next... so this Inktober project is sort of my way of "testing" the story and characters to see if I want to go on with them.
