@andyg you clearly have a lot of experience working with ink ! these are super detailed and rich, what size do you work at? I tend to use sign pens, sharpies, a brush pen and copics in my sketch book, is that about the same for you?

@bursaroo thanks! I tend to draw larger than I ink at. So draw at A3, then photograph, shrink to A4 then ink at A4 for these single pieces. Makes it quicker to ink. I do do A3 inks but they take about 18 hours to complete.

I use a carbon platinum fountain pen for fine line and cross hatching. And just this week picked up the Pentel brush pen @Jake-Parker uses...I usually use brush and ink, but get really annoyed that either I can’t get it fine enough or doesn’t hold enough ink for a good line. And I’ve only found one ink I actually liked...which has just run out. I used to use a zig brush pen, but it was like using a marker with a flexible end. So needing a new brush and new ink, and as I had a load of material needed buying I thought it worth the risk having seen Jake use his...and I love it! Complements my fountain pen brilliantly.

These are so interesting to follow! Love how you used one character throughout, and the backgrounds are super intricate! jelly

Day 8. Crooked Just about only one day behind. Struggled to find an idea, and rushed the dog a bit. Still....I’ve learnt how to render storm clouds. Slightly overworked but I know for next time.

Inktober day 23:juicy.1950s Enid blighton book style.
Back at the start of October I said I was going to use this for promotion. Well someone got In Touch today asking if I could illustrate their story because they’d seen my inktober work. And could I do 1950s style. Well why not?
