Thank you everyone! I've been staring at these images for too long. You know when you look at something so long you start to convince yourself that its crap? 😛

Here is my progress on the monster camping spread.

@stringfellowart your work is far from crap, but I know what you mean. I look back at everything I do and say its not good enough. I guess its an artist thing.

I had a revelation last night in a dream (weird) about what was bugging me about the pictures. They are all mostly the same static point of view. So when you put them together they can end up feeling boring. 😛 so I guess I need to get some new ones done with more dynamic perspectives.

@stringfellowart I have to ask--is there a story behind the sad bee? I LOVE this and keep thinking about it.

@eli Not a real story, no. I had a prompt, "honey soup" and I thought, who would want to eat honey soup, and why? And this was the answer I got. 🙂

I got some more feedback today on the portfolio, and I decided to add some images that are serial, so I'm working on another one of Mr. Honey Bee. I'm still trying to figure out his story, but I think he is having a bad day. Or maybe week.

Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful! What an inspiration you are! Thank you for sharing your work and good luck with the grant. I suspect money will find its way to you one way or another.

Well, for better or worse, I have submitted my entry. I was getting to the point of over thinking everything, so I knew I needed to do it before I talked myself out of it. There are the final 10 that made the cut.

I wouldn't sweat it too much, these are all great pieces. I especially love the beehive and coffee shop illustration. I could see those being really appealing to the illustration market (beautiful work all round though). GOOD LUCK!!
