Here is mine for this month. Love everyone's entries, and very happy to give this a try again. It's been eight months or so since I've entered this contest.

My submission.

I decided to be inspired by one of my favorite musical artist, Marvin Gaye.

As for my piece, I envision myself living in harmony with the blessings that comes from God's love. On of those blessings are my wife.

Despite the person in the picture, the troubles, the darkness in them, God gives them...Gives you the opportunity to enjoy something more peaceful than what we are so that we can grow to be something inspiring for the good of mankind.

Her face is inspired by a girl I saw in the film, "Insights from the Frontiers of Learning" in a section highlighting community building activities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. I usually don't know the origin of characters that end up in my paintings, but this one does have a connection to a specific place, so it's interesting that you asked.
