Her face is inspired by a girl I saw in the film, "Insights from the Frontiers of Learning" in a section highlighting community building activities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. I usually don't know the origin of characters that end up in my paintings, but this one does have a connection to a specific place, so it's interesting that you asked.

Little did the children know as they walked home from the park that they would be enveloped by a spontaneous animal music parade and invited to join in. =)x
