Day 2: Tranquil! Jigokudani Yaen-koen National Park in Japan is best known for it's large population of Japanese Macaques that like to spend the coldest months of the year chillaxing in the natural hot springs.

Inktober 2018 Animals Day 2 Tranquil
I sketch with pen that way I don’t have to keep erasing however the lines bleed through. I am not that bothered by them.
-
I just keep on sketching for as long as it last - so this would be day 2. This guy was selling beads and trinkets off a canoe just before the shoreline (in the water) - because it´s forbidden to peddle on the beach where I am now in Sardegna! So, he had found his solution. It was a real character: more than 6 feet tall, hunched and stiff, with bathing shorts and loose fishing boots...I sketched him while he was peeling an orange as a snack.

Seeing everyone's work made me want to post too! My theme this month is Flora & Faces, and I'm using flower symbolism to tie in somewhat with the prompts. If you go to my instagram there are actually short poems to go with them. First day for Poisonous is Atropa Belladonna/Deadly Nightshade, and the second day for Tranquil is the Spathiphyllum/Peace Lily. I've wanted to participate for so long but have been intimidated by ink, haven't had a good concept, and haven't been able to stick with it past the first week. But I've actually planned a head this time, so wish me luck!

Heres my mushroomman for tranquil. I’m starting to think the brushpen isn’t for me. I’m posting daily on instagram. Same name if people want to follow me, swordofodin
Open to critiques! -
@chrisaakins This is so sweet! I love the addition of the lettering; that's something I would love to do some time as well.

Day 2: Tranquil -
@aska Thank you!
-
@teju-abiola Aww thanks! I love your work, too. Your faces are so soft. I am not brave enough to try ink washing yet on my skin tones. I thought about it here. I loved doing this piece so I didn't want to mess isit up.
Side note: I will always appreciate my 5th grade teacher who made my cursive handwriting be so pretty I can use it as art. And I will always hear "you have the prettiest handwriting ...for a guy."

Here we are on day 2! I recently had a cat who passed away, and today's tranquil prompt seemed absolutely perfect to memorialize him. So here is my little guy in one of his favorite napping positions, dreaming of wet food, because he would have absolutely no clue what to do with a real fish haha

Day 2: Tranquil
not really succesful this time:face_with_open_mouth_cold_sweat:

So here is Day 2 (Tranquil) - funny @theemkat also drew something cute sleeping
Short question: I opened a topic for my challenge as i first thought this is the way to go in the forums.
Should i instead post that here or can i do it here AND in my thread (keeping my drawings collected). Just asking, THX! -
@crud42 Great minds think alike! I love how cozy yours is (except the poor rabbit of course)

"Roasted"
Oh man, Ink is not as easy as it seems. I had some issues mixing the ink wash over some ink pen lines I did. Seems like the ink from the pen is water soluble...hence when there is a slightly different colouring on the floor of the "cave".
Bummer. Oh well, that's the whole point of inktober - to learn something new. Seems like I'm feeling the learning part of it. haha.
Oh and a special shoutout to everyone that followed me on Instagram. Loving the support.

@crud42 re posting don’t think it matters either way - whatever works for you
