nasvikdraws - Inktober 2018 - The Adventures of Dad-dad
-
I have enjoyed these immensely as a dad and as a new grandpa watching my son be a parent of a new baby. You are really resonating with parents, I think. This could totally make a great comic strip for the newspapers or as a book. You should get with @Art-of-B to see how to make a regular webcomic. His stuff is great, too.
-
@nyrrylcadiz Thank you. Getting closer to the finish line day by day. Please cross those fingers
@artwithashley Thank you! Glad you enjoy them. Always trying to find an interesting perspective.
@chrisaakins Thank you for the kind words. I am looking forward to being a grandpa, it must be great. I alway imagine it is more fun than being a dad. Once finished I'll put together a book and keep you posted guys. I'll reach out to @Art-of-B. Thanks for the idea. His stuff is superb.

Day 22 - Expensive
I am not 100% satisfied with the result but "finish not perfect", right?
The WTP joke at the end was not intentional at all. I finished the piece and realized it. I laughed like it was not done by me. -
@nasvikdraws the goodbye door slam is sooo true!
-
Day 23 - Muddy
Congrats to all of you who participated in Inktober this year. I am still posting. Hope you guys don't mind as it is November -
@nasvikdraws Not at all! Ive said this before, I love your comics. They're all so relatable to all parents out there
-
@Sas Thank you. Then I'll be bombarding you guys with more. Lol
-
Day 24 - Chop
With this piece I tried out a 2+1 vertical panel layout. If you know Scott McCloud's books you know that this can be a confusing layout and you have to carefully lead the eyes of the viewer with movement or text so it is legible in the right order. Hope the result is not confusing. -
@nasvikdraws Layout works perfectly for me. So well-done.
-
Hahaha! Perfect!
-
@nasvikdraws Love it and no problem following the layout here.
-
@nasvikdraws Not confusing at all, reads perfectly.
-
@KathrynAdebayo Great. Thank you,
@chrisaakinsThanks,
@demotlj . Glad you like it. Thanks,
@Eli Awesome, ThanksSorry guys as I am not participating in the forum only in this thread. After I finish the 31 drawings, I'll be more active.
-
Day 25 - Prickly
So I decided to print these in a book. I'll update you on the rest if you'd like a copy. Never done this... Excited... -
@nasvikdraws So excited that you're doing a book! You really should--they are excellent.
-
@eli Thank you
-
Day 26 - Stretch
I feel this one feel apart a bit. A bit busy and is missing emphasis on the characters. What do you think? -
@nasvikdraws I think it really works. It's not feeling busy to me at all and I think the emphasis is clear. I guess you're worried about the composition? I think it works because it also emphasizes the tension of the gap between them and how they are REALLY trying to close that gap! Once again, well done!!
-
@nasvikdraws Yes please do!
-
@Eli Ok. Great. Thanks. I looked at it again and I am not that worried about it now. The tension of the gap looks fine to me too now. Probably if it would be a color scene I could still emphasize the characters better.
