This was one of my inktober submissions from this year a little bit of the edges are cut off because of how I took the photo, but I really enjoy how this one turned out and am thinking about doing more drawings like this one I however do think I could improve on this and hope to carry those tips onto the other pieces I do. Thank you for any feedback!! 🙂

I would look for ways to indicate light through your line work an example is the cymbals they would have a shadow between then and be darker towards the bottom. You can also have furry textures be heaver towards the shadow and disappear as they curve into the light.

        Cheers

Such a great piece. Having shadows toward the bottom of the clouds (as @rcartwright suggests) would also help blend the clouds into the background a bit more and make the whole picture more unified.

I echo what @rcartwright and @kadelex are saying about lighting and refer you to Jake's Inking 2.0 class. Specifically the demo where he shows his application of the different hatching techniques that they are talking about.

@kadelex I see what you are saying about maybe doing a little more rendering into the background instead of just cutting it off with flat black - thank you!
