@carriecopa love that blue one … the lil bit of pink adds a bit of mystery too. Really like the feel of this one πŸ™‚

@sophie-lawson Thanks, I'm a fan of the pink too! It a cheery accent to all that blue. It's kind of hard to let these go as gifts πŸ™‚

Wow, reading all these posts makes me think that I am not spending enough time drawing in a day or that I draw ridiculously slow! Maybe it’s because I have been working on 1 composition for so long. I am working on the refined sketch for the creative composition assignment, which I am hoping to finish today. Drawing 25 items is trickier than I thought, and I made it even more difficult on myself by choosing a challenging perspective for the composition. I love hearing about what everyone is working on, it’s a great way to get the creative juices flowing.

@inkandspatter There's no right pace πŸ™‚ Besides, the ones who do it full time obviously have more time to draw! I can so rarely find time for my personal projects, really respect the people who are able to put time aside for it!

Today I'm working on feedback and tweaks for client work. Favorite request: "The cow looks a bit too young." LOL I love my job

@sophie-lawson I am working on the thumbnails in the workbook as well. And I agree that it is can get pretty hard. But I can see it paying off already. I am excited to use what I have learned on my own projects! Thanks @Will-Terry

This is 'courageous' for a collection of illustrations for the idea of civic responsibilities for kids. I want to make the cat easier to see and I think the white fur isn't working... :smiling_cat_face_with_open_mouth:

This weekend I am redesigning a Christmas painting from a few years back to improve it. I am also experimenting more with gouache which I really love .I am just finishing up a watercolour of a fairy in the woods painting and generally just relaxing with watercolour πŸ˜€

I'm going back and forth over thumbnails. I've been trying to take stories I read and draw an illustration or set of illustrations for them and it's quite a transition from my usual drawing and painting from life. Think I'll try out the creative composition class/workbook today and see if I can improve my results.

@thiskatecreates It sounds like a great exercise to practice visual storytelling!

@nessillustration I am finding my imaginative and narrative skills fairly taxed though. I guess that's how you know it's challenging you! πŸ˜›

I started with the idea I would do 5 or 10 storytelling pieces for Dracula and it's already been two months just figuring out what are the key narrative elements and which characters to focus on and how they look and dress. 0.0 Now every short story I read I'm trying a single image for but finding this is a slow and ongoing exercise for me. All these tiny sketches are really showing me what I need to focus on next to level up though.
