      It occurred to me that with two light sources the shadows overlapping plus the couch look like a heart around my older couple. Does this work? Is there a better light source that you can think of? How does the concept play out?

        What a creative idea! It's genius! As a recommendation, maybe you could consider having one light source be a lamp, or have a street light out one window and the moon in the other... something to make clear where the two separate light angles are coming from. If it's left ambiguous it may read as a mistake. I really like where this is going... thank you very much for sharing your process for everyone to learn from.
