I think @NessIllustration has a good point - I think a white background or something more minimal would help the dragon to read a bit better. The details on the dragon 😍

Wow this looks like an interesting project. The dragon really stands out from the background. It doesn't look boring at all; you have a lot of details and his emotion is very clear. But maybe when we see the other characters we will see he is "boring" by comparison. The only thing is that I have trouble understanding the background. I cannot tell whether it is a mountain, or a river, or in the sky. Not sure if the background is essential to your story at this particular moment. If it is, I think it will help if the background is more accurate. Otherwise it distracts the reader because we will wonder where he is located. Nice start! Can't wait to see more.

@lisanganart @djly @NessIllustration Thank you! I agree with the white background. I was afraid the pale paper wouldn't stand out. In terms of the rest of the story, she is in the sky at this point but drifting down and the other dragons will be bright colors.

@MHardt I think she will stand out enough, the paper is yellow enough, but the similarity of the background and her pale color might help make her more boring and washed out too!

@MHardt - I think the white background is really making both pieces pop. I think @NessIllustration hit it on the head! Really beautiful work, by the way!

@NessIllustration Ah thank you! And thanks for the white background suggestion. It cleans it up to focus on the dragons.
