Pop Up Card
-
For a school assignment I had to make a direct mail piece so I made a mockup of an author's visit
So I think I failed on the practicality part, given how expensive this would be to produce but I wanted to try out pop-ups and sliders. And the graphic design is iffy. But what I'm proud of is the pop-up element. I made the illustrations and color scheme based on Robert Sabuda's "The Dragon and the Knight" using pen, gouache, and watercolor.

I love pop-up cards! well done! It is a pity that a lot of techniques have disappeared.... it is long, delicate and costly but fun! I am glad you enjoyed it.
I also tried pop up cards but failed...
Here is the pop up book from a student in Design a few years ago : I like the video so much that I watch it every now and then : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDQEDSK9WDs

@Julia I spent my spring break doing this and it's fun if puzzles and sitting for hours like a mad person with paper strikes your fancy. I think it helps me stand out in Design, since most of my colleagues are really minimal and technical, Designer designers, if you know what I mean.
That portfolio is amazing! It's also cool to see that I have some idea of how the "paper mechanics" in that portfolio are working, lots of waterfall pull tabs. Definitely something to look up to for sure!
