My piece for this month's art contest: "Message in a bottle"
This was such a fun challenge 
I seized the opportunity to create something new for my portfolio.
It's the first time I really mixed traditional and digital together and I liked working that way!

@Sarah-LuAnn I don't know your usual style, but I do like your troutmaid very much. The trout surrounding her are beautiful, and I really like that the freshwater mermaids are finally getting the attention they deserve

Mermaid tales have many common motifs, but to me the most important one is the moment of discovery. Finding something both strange and familiar that exists in a world we know little about and cannot ourselves survive in. Thanks!

I'm reposting because I was having trouble getting a quality image to post previously.
My mermaid is a daredevil and loves to fly through the depths at break-neck speeds.
Here is my entry. It was fun to think about what mermaids do all day. I think they do some of the same things I enjoy doing: making our world beautiful.
