      Working on something for Mermay, I didn't think I would be able to this month. For the ocean water, should I keep it simple or have the watercolor colors swirling in the water too? alt text

        @Heather-Bouteneff if you decide to water color the water, I would say be aware of the amount of texture it adds to the water, because if the water is textured and the mermaid is not, it might draw away from the mermaid? Does that make sense?

              I would change the colour of the mermaid's tail where it's in the water by adding a little blue to the green, that way it will look that it's underwater, especially if you have half of the tail out of the water.
              Makes sense?

                This is a really nice idea, I especially like the pots of watercolours in the water and the character itself is so lovely!
                Are you going to be putting a background colour for the sky? At the moment it's looking a bit too bright with the white background and it's making it hard for me to see your characters top half and that she's holding paper and a brush!
                Maybe a sunset sky of pinks and blues so her colours will pop out more? 🙂
