Welcome to the forum! A while back we had a thread going about how to indicate whether you want a critique when you post your work and I think the consensus was that people should just feel free to be honest about what they need. I think then to help you get over your anxiety about sharing work, you could post some to the forum and say, “No critiques please. Just want to share.” Everyone will respect that and it might be a way to begin overcoming your anxieties (with which I am completely sympathetic!) As everyone has said, this is a great community, with very supportive people and it’s a good place to feel safe about showing your work.

@demotlj Thank you for such a thoughtful suggestion. I have already posted one piece asking for critique - and a "brutally honest" one at that - because that is something I've been dealing with better in recent years and I want to continue to grow a thicker skin, so to speak. I enjoy receiving constructive critique! It is always so enriching, and that did happen in that other thread I'd created.

I think for me, a lot of the anxiety was over the fact that I thought it was pointless to share my art, and like it was never good enough to be shared. I made too many comparisons to other artists, and that became crippling.
