I think you are right that the notes might be overkill. I love the floral texture background! I've been wanting to do something similar sometime. (Have you seen the British children's show "Sarah & Duck"? The background & environment elements have wonderful textures like this.)I think the floral texture could represent the song of the bird. Maybe you could add some very subtle notes into the background--hidden in the dotted areas.

@Nyrryl-Cadiz Great sketches.
-
I’m working on a new sketch.
-
this is looking great, so much movement. Only one thing if I hide the feet and head, I see the torso from the front, not like it is the back, maybe the right shoulder or the torso should be more rotated.
-
@MichaelaH hi! Which character do you mean?
-
@Nyrryl-Cadiz Dancing boy in the air
-
@MichaelaH well, it’s a good thing the head and legs are staying. Lol
i don’t understand what you mean by rotating the right shoulder though. I might rotate his torso more to the right to emphasize that he’s turning.
-
Yeah rotate the torso lttle more, so that the head isn't like put on.
-
@MichaelaH LOL I tried but I cannot for the love of me make his torso seem as if he’s not facing us. It’s beyond my powers. I guess people will just have to firgure that he’s facing backwards based on his head and legs and other clues. I tried but I can’t
Any help?
-
@Nyrryl-Cadiz does it help? I am not so good with back either...but maybe it will help so taht You will come up with an idea??
-
@MichaelaH looks great! I’ll do this. Thank you so much!

@Nyrryl-Cadiz Love the illustrations for filipino folklore stories. Looking forward to see them as a collection. I would love to also read the stories behand. I have a soft spot for folk stories from around the world.
So amazed by your art making speed. Wow.
-
@Nyrryl-Cadiz I also do love your dancing kids, particularly the perspective is wonderful.
I would suggest that the sitting kids watch the two dancers in the middle, instead of looking to the sticks. It would connect them even more and they would need it to coordinate their next steps anyways. I am looking forward to see you working on this piece.

Hi, everyone. I’m working onthe Maria Makiling piece. Here’s my progress.
-
Hi! Here’s another update!
-
It looks wonderful
-
@MichaelaH thanks

@Nyrryl-Cadiz, these are awesome! In your first one with the sea turtle, the angle of the turtle is making it look like an 'x' also look at sea turtle anatomy b/c the front flippers are big, but the back leg flippers are much, much smaller. Otherwise, it's a great start! I am loving the action you choose in your compositions and seeing the process. I especially love the folklore and stories projects. They set your content apart! I'm Cuban (American born), and I don't know many of the stories and folklore from my ancestors because of the exodus, and I'm sorry for it. Keep on keepin' on!

@Nyrryl-Cadiz I love the movement in this!
