Small screen overlay on iPad - how?

I want to have a course run in the corner of my screen. I get that to start, the second I start another app, it closes again.
Any clue?

Hm. This might offer some clues? Are there certain apps that don't allow split screen or picture in picture?

It works with all other video players for me, I often watch Prime or Netflix while Procreating... also videos atrted in Chrome aren’t usually a problem. Only svs.

Btw, it works when I start from Safari... not Chrome.
