I don't know why but I imagine that huge mice would love corn.

I colored a sketch of some salt water taffy as a pirate. Not my best work but I really like how weird it is!

@SFischer you got a nice taffy texture and the wrapping is spot on, knew what it was right away.

Continuing the weird western ranch megafauna ideas.

Cow-sized guinea pigs must be super comfy.

This is why you train your riding mouse to be very VERY still on command.

Decided to buckle down and practice Loomis heads this month. Not sure how to know when to move beyond the structures to the next stage. FDB2BB99-1250-40CD-83CB-89F6BE8BEEDA.jpeg F029C727-2ED2-41B1-ABA5-F4C3C6D0C092.jpeg

@MissMushy In my opinion, if you've put in a good amount of effort into a stage, applying the information as you go, feel free to move on, even if you aren't 100% solid. It's normal to keep going back through to review and clarify information. Sometimes info won't click the first time around and you need other types of exercises, info, and time.

Have you checked out Proko's youtube videos on Loomis head construction? They are awesome!

@TessaW thanks yes, I am reviewing Proko’s videos - also contemplating doing his portraits course. Will just keep practising - my goal is 100 heads this month. 😐🀞🏼🀞🏼

@Braden-Hallett These are giving me life. The last one in particular has so much good energy and tension in the posing of the mouse, reinforced with the thicks-to-thins on the ink work. Elegant and fun all at the same time!

@Coreyartus This makes me tired just thinking about it. What a tremendous amount of creative output this takes.

I want to the art gallery yesterday and spent some time doing a rough sketch study of Three Washer Women by LΓ©on Augustin Lhermitte. Today I decided it would be fun to riff off that painting with bears, so here is the painting and my preliminary sketch of the bears.
