December prompt WIP: pigeons
-
I found myself putting off working on this several times over the past week & finally had to admit that I just wasnโt feeling this scene at all. I went back and sketched something simpler that focuses more on her expression. Going to try and paint some nice light and texture and see where it goes.

@neschof I like #11. There is something so perfect about your thumbnails. I like how simple and understated they are, but they still convey your message. I'd keep going back to those.
-
@Laurel-Aylesworth thank you. I think youโre right, Iโm just not really feeling this!
-
Ok, I think Iโm calling this pretty much done now. Time to move on to other things.

@neschof
Oh I like this one. I agree I think in this you were able to work things out in your favour.
-
@neschof I really like how this turned out! I might try one small adjustment before submitting
Our friends the pigeons are kinda fading into the background (the ones on her head, I assume the one's in the bushes are meant to fade into the background) A little bit more of a highlight might help to pop them out into the foreground.
Really, though, this is adorable

This makes me smile when I look at it. It's cute!!
-
@Braden-Hallett thank you, yes I vaguely thought that but was being too lazy to change it
Iโve now added more of a dark area to the background around her head, added a bit of rim light (hey hey, painting colour and light 2.0 in action!) to the pigeons, and also darkened her mouth as I think it was getting a bit a lost.
Going to sleep on it and hopefully submit tomorrow.

@neschof That reads MUCH better now
Bravo!

@neschof this is the cutest. Not the best critique LoL, but it really is sweet
