Here is mine: traditional watercolor which I then manipulated in Procreate. Someday, I hope to be good enough with watercolor to be able to ditch the digital!

@demotlj Looks great! Out of curiosity, what is it you're feeling like isn't up allowing you to ditch the digital side if that's what you want to do?

@jdubz I'm mostly having difficulty getting the values as dark as I would like and manipulating my brush well enough to get finer details. (And of course, there is the Undo of digital which is great.) Basically, I'm still enough of a novice at watercolor that my patience with it is less than my patience at the iPad. Nevertheless, I like the look of traditional and when it's going well, I like the feel of working with real materials, so I persist!

Good to be back! Here's my submission. A bit gloomy one from what I usually do, fitting for January though I think! Digital. -Todd Tracks.jpg

@BichonBistro I would not be able to do this without photoshop "transform->distort" tool, especially for the dragon and shadows of kids. I think I redrew that about 10 times.😀

Everyone did an amazing job for this month! I've had some crazy ideas in the beginning, but I ended up with this quiet scenery 🙂

                                Hi everyone,

I am really enjoying the challenge of creating a piece from a specific font.
It is a nice way to get some experience creating an image from parameters that have been created by someone else as it would be if you were in a working relationship with a client.

And I love to see everyone's submissions as well.

                                Goodluck everyone!

As always so enjoyable to see what everyone comes up with. This month I wanted to try the piece traditionally as well as digitally to see what I liked and didn't like with both mediums. Annnnd this is were I landed.

@Coley Your little demo of explaining the shadow for me was super helpful. I redrew the whole dragon after seen your demo. Now the dragon looks much more like imprinted into the snow.

Here is my resubmission. I think it is a better concept.
William Shakespeare wrote about a walking wood in Macbeth. Maybe he got the idea from a real encounter with a walking tree that left funny tracks in the snow.
