      @aska I like it!

      It's clean and gets right into the art. No need to navigate menus or any other rigamarole, it's 'here's who I am and here's my pretty pictures'.

      What service/site builder are you using?

        @Braden-Hallett there is navigation... it is just hidden behind the 3 dashes.

        @aska it took me a minute to figure out that the menu existed. If you want people to get to your 'projects' or 'blog' pages you might want to make connections to them visible.

        I do like the simplicity of it though. The site is not taking away from the artwork.

          @aska It's a nice, clean site! My only suggestion is to either put all your text together (instead of the paragraph breaks) or create an About Me page, so your art is "above the fold" on a computer screen. Right now, the text and grey border dominates the page, and I'd want to see your artwork right away instead of having to scroll down.

            I can see the point others have made regarding using the 3 dashed for navigation. I work in IT and see this a lot lately, so I wasn't confused and it does keep your site clean and up to date. There aren't too many selections, so maybe you could create a menu bar across the page, under the other two icons. What I loved the most were your two colored illustrations. The color palette, lines and shading are very nice - Great style!

              @aska It is a very clean site. My suggestion would be to put a few more artwork on the front page. Editors seem do not explore the website so much, many of them just look through the front page. You can use the front page as the main portfolio (for kidlit portfolio, the recommendation is to have 10-12 pieces in the portfolio), and I would try to put a few more colored pieces there :-). I would also be very specific on one main market I want to position myself (e.g. children's book illustration, editorial illustration, and only have the artwork made for that market on the front page.

              Your navigation under projects are well organized, but I would be a bit concerned if most of the people will see them because the navigation is quite hidden. If you are able to hook up your website with some kind of analytic system, it will give you a picture of how viewers browse your site, and if the pages under projects get viewed. That will give you a more informed idea of how to organize your content.

                  @theprairiefox thank you for your comments. This menu is the only option in the wordpress theme that I am using and I can't really change it.

                    @Laurel-Aylesworth thank you! I used to have about me page, but decided to go with minimalistic style 🙂 However I did change the description to keep it together like you suggested

                      @deborah-Haagenson thank you! 🙂 coloured pics are my illustrator pieces, which I am proud of, so its nice that you like them. Like I told the others, I cannot really change the menu. I like the simple look tho, so dam going to risk it.

                        @xin-li thank you for your comments 🙂 the problem with my portfolio is that is not focused and consistent. My style and abilities keep evolving and thats why i chose to put my latest pieces on the home page. Soon i will have 3 more pieces in the style of coloured ones, so I will add them to the homepage too.
