Luna Lovegood ~ This one popped into my head the other day. Just imagining her walking into the great hall with her lion hat. I sketched it out and then did an experiment - painted with watercolor and gouache on yupo paper. Very weird but fun. The paper is actually waterproof so instead of absorbing the paint, the water evaporates and leaves the paint on the surface. Anyone ever tried this before?

I like this post! I was going through your older work. You have some really nice pieces here. I especially like the dark forest and the girl with the necktie. They show a complex and mature palette.
Btw. I like you line "... Oh and I have allergies." Lol
Good luck with your daily sketches, your kids and allergies. -

@pamela-fraley Oh my gosh. More of these, please! (specifically, the slump sketch)

A couple pencil sketches. I loved the class on stylized portraits and this is what I always fall back on when I have only a few minutes to study. I know I need to spend more time doing compositions and whole figures, but there’s something about a pencil portrait that just gets me. Pinterest supplies an endless selection of sweet references so this is what I do when I can’t get to my paints.️
