Hi everyone, I’m new to the forums. Here is a piece I’m working on for the May contest.

@Erich-von-Hasseln I love the look and feel. You are using value very well.

My one piece of feedback would be the same that @carlianne gave me. I am not sure what the 'story' is. I see the reflection looking at the dog and the dog looking somewhere else. But what does that mean?

This looks pretty cool!! But until I read someones comment, I didn't even realize it was a water reflection!! If you look at this right, it can seem like the foregrouund dog is just standing behind a rock.

Idk how you'd fix that, maybe zooming out a bit?

@Erich-von-Hasseln welcome to the forums, i love the feel of this. I didn't read reflection in the water at first. Maybe turning the dogs head to look at his reflection and add more ripples to the water.

@theprairiefox Ok, thanks! I'll consider adding storytelling elements. I started with a mood more than I story..

@Frost-Drive It's a bit of an illusion for sure.. I think, based on what others have told me.. I'll emphasize the water a little more. That should help. Thank you!

@Chip-Valecek I'm definitely going to emphasize the water more.. the reflection of the dog is supposed to be different, it's meant to be an illusion. I'll see water adding more ripples does.. Thank you!
