      hi fellow SVSers
i havnt posted on here in far too long, but i just wanted to share a milestone for myself and hopefully it encourages you guys to keep going and working on ya passions
i started working on this book around two years ago, and no i didnt think it would take so long, i learnt so much and had to overcome so many personal obstacles to see it to the end. and wow its so worth it.
its called "mindful moby" and aims to teach kids how to calm their bodies and minds through the mindfulness practice of a body scan.
the text was very simple and just kinda described actions to do which gave me pretty much nothing to go off, but thanks to things iv learnt here, i was able to tell a whole story of my own to help make it more engaging
it was such an enjoyable process and i cant wait to get started on the next one

please share some on your own first time stories, id love to hear

      ryan

        yo

Wow that's so awesome!!! Mindfulness and teaching kids emotions / self control is all the rage right now, so that's cool to see books coming out to help with it!!

It's cool that you managed to tell your own story within the story too!! Sometimes I think, how do the writers even have a job in kids illustration? Don't they just write like two paragraphs and call it good. pft. I'm sure there's more to it, but to me it seems like the illustrator carries 80% of the workload.

Really nice! I love the way you turned the boy into part of the landscape with a map on his head. Cheers!

@Kim-Hunter thanks very much. Yeah they go on a journey from his head to his toes. That was the main story element I added, otherwise it would have been just a bunch of kid friendly diagrams. Lol
