June WIP/Process

@Chip-Valecek This looks like fun! I love the tiny fish skeletons lol
My only point would be to consider flipping the image so that the whole thing reads towards the right.
-
Oh, also, I'm not sure how the alligator's body is twisted underwater, but I think the tail should have the ventral side facing outside?
-
@Neha-Rawat you know what, I thought about that. Next post i will show both and see what the feedback is. I feel it could read both ways.
-
@Neha-Rawat another great point on the tail. I will flip that!

I can almost hear Clyde's laugh just from looking at this piece, lol. It has such a great energy! My two cents would be to orient all the fish bones to face away from Clyde. I know fish bones can fly every which way, but my brain keeps telling me that they're flying in the direction they're facing. Also, with the tail issue, maybe if you try drawing Clyde's whole body (drawing through), you can get a better idea of how it should orient and maybe even how close/far it should be from the main body. Excited to see the final product of this!

@Chip-Valecek Sounds good! It's always good to try all options
My justification would be that the illustration drawn in a linear layout as such should follow the direction the text is revealed in. The text first talks about Clyde, then Bongo, and eventually the orange tree. It's not a hard and fast rule but I think it's what I lean towards.
Looking forward to the colors!

Here is the next WIP with some of the suggestions in place and local colors. I think I am going to remove those darker branches and really fill out those trees with more oranges. Maybe add a couple on the ground with some sort of animal laughing and pointing at Bongo.
-
@Chip-Valecek Love your laughing gator!

I made some more adjustments and added a few more characters into the piece. I also started to put in some shadows and highlights on the characters. All the fun stuff before the clean up begins.

This month has gotten away from me, but here are the rest of the steps I took to get to the final I submitted.
