      Any last minute advice for my Bongo piece? (It looks like i need to define his foot with the feather a bit better - does not look good at this low resolution)I was not giving the leaves much detail because they are not the focal point...does that bother anyone? do the leaves just seem unfinished? Any critiques always very much appreciated 🙂

        The texture on your alligator is amazing and I love how you did the water! The leaves don't bother me at all. They seem like great background elements--but I don't know if they will look unfinished to someone with a more professional eye than mine.
        Very impressive!

          Nice character design! Maybe give the leaves a highlight here and there? If done sparsely and loosely, it could give a little dimension without being distracting. But that's just my quick opinion.

            Incredible depiction of Bongo's entry here. I love the dive and expression! The leaves look great to me, and the foot is a bit hard to read from far out, but good close up. The only thing that was a bit challenging for my mind to understand right away was Mr. Clyde's legs. Maybe because they're thin? or jointless? or because the feet aren't showing? Not really sure, but just thought to mention it in case it's helpful. I love this piece and your style of illustration. 🙂

                @Kevin-Longueil looks great. I would add a little detail to the leaves since some have lines and some don't.

                    @Kevin-Longueil this is truly a fun piece!

                    I had one thought, I wonder if you could lighten up the bird? When I looked at the whole picture together the bird has almost as much weight as Bongo. Which I don't think was the intention. I wonder if you lightened his value or made it a smaller bird if the visual weight would lessen?

                    Just a thought. Beautifully rendered piece.

                        @theprairiefox Thank you for the feedback! My thinking on the Toucan is that he is the part of the story that i would add as an illustrator that is not in the text - In this particular panel he would be given equal weight to Clyde and Bongo - the bird would be in every panel as a minor element until the last where he would be prominent again where Bongo is wondering how he would get back ..as he looks thoughtfully at the now indignant Toucan. Where bongo gets the feather that he uses to escape Clyde seemed like a fun idea. That was my thinking anyways 🙂 I really appreciate the feedback!
                        @Jeremy-Ross Thank Jeremy!

                          I think it all looks fantastic and the leaves being more sketchy dont bother me. What bothers me is the crocodiles mouth. It seems like its made out of rubber with no underlying bone structure in it. This is coming too late to fix it anymore, but for next time, I would make the mouth more natural, as everything else is drawn with reference to reality.

                            @MirkaH Not too late at all! - you are right it is too floppy!.. @Braxton mentioned it before and it seemed ok to me back then...but you are both right - i'll straighten out the snout a bit - Thank you 🙂

                                Its better, but still distorted as if some one is peeling the top and bottom jaw open of a rubber toy. Both sides of the jaws should be basically straight with just a curvy edge on the mouthline.
