      Hi! Just a heads up that there may be some connectivity issues with the website right now, hopefully it will be resolved soon!

      @xin-li What a great idea to use one of your Inktober drawings for Slowvember! Ever since I first heard about Slowvember on the podcast months ago, I’ve been wracking my brain trying to find a piece I’d like to work on for the month. Unfortunately, creativity doesn’t work that way for me. But like your idea about Inktober. I participated in Inktober for 3 years now so I’ll dig into my archives and see if anything sparks up.

      @Lee-White - what a great question "what's the MAIN color cast of this image?" that you've suggested to help keep things under control. Have attached the original image & the updated image - not intended for you to critique, just to show there does seem to be an improvement on overall color harmony from my view after trying the methods you advised – thank you! Stress levels lower too! And after sampling & stealing some other artists’ colors (this is fun to do too) - realized that my image has fundamental issues in the drawing & value areas that pretty colors can’t hide/fix.

      Yes! – have been enjoying seeing your low contrast paintings – thought them intriguing, like someone whispering instead of shouting 😊

      The featured student for July is Jonas Zavacky! The Q&A with Jonas (@JONAS ZAVACKY) is up on the blog. Below is an introduction to the Q&A that Kathryn Adebayo (@KATHRYNADEBAYO) conducted with Jonas:

      "Here is an invitation to sit back and relax for a moment. If you are a fellow creative, prepare yourself for a break from the hectic business side of your art career, the stresses of commissions, the worry of artist block, the question of whether or not you have the ideal portfolio... Just enjoy the next few minutes while you read this exchange with SVSLearn student, Jonas Zavacky, and let yourself be reminded of the most real and true reasons why you do what you do."

      Read the whole Q&A on the blog.

      The featured student for June is Sarah LuAnn Perkins! The Q&A with Sarah LuAnn (@SARAH LUANN) is up on the blog. Below is an introduction to the Q&A that Kathryn Adebayo (@KATHRYNADEBAYO) conducted with Sarah LuAnn:

      "Being an artist may be a romantic vision for many creatives, but anyone who has tried it also knows that it takes sweat and dedication. Artist Sarah LuAnn Perkins is a fantastic example of someone giving it her all, and in this interview she shares how she's striving diligently at this phase in her life. Have you ever wondered, "How will I ever finish this project that's still living in my head?" or, "When will I be good enough to take the next step?" If so, Sarah's insights may strike a chord with you."

      @Lee-White

      I just saw this post today about your video critiques of all of the submissions.
      I was captivated by your suggestions to each image and watched the whole thing through.
      Thank you very much on the critique, I do use traditional mediums as this point and I am investigating digital formats to bring my work to the next level and hopefully increase interest in my work for children's illustration.
