Hello from San Diego!

Hi everyone! My name is Lora! I am an aspiring illustrator in San Diego. For the past 5 years I taught digital art in high school, but unfortunately I was laid off this year due to budget cuts. Even though life (and the world!) is unstable now, I'm grateful for the opportunity to draw every day and to take the time for some extra learning. My big goal this year is to start a webcomic. I'm also trying to level up my portfolio to one day be able to make a living from illustration, especially spooky kids books.

When I'm not drawing, I am usually fussing over my two little dogs or listening to podcasts! I love everything by the McElroy family. Lately WTF by Marc Maron has really been inspiring me when current events are so heavy.

@lora_chaudavis Hello and welcome! I am not really into scary things, though I will watch some science fiction horror. Aliens and predators aren't real so they bother me less. And when when aliens do show up in my dreams I shoot them or they team up with me to fight worse guys lols.

I guess your dream comic might be in the scary category as well am I correct lols?

@Heather-Boyd Thanks! And haha yeah, I am thinking of a more spooky theme for the comic. I like friendly spooky things that are creepy but also kind of cute and funny! I also have a hard time watching stuff that is legitimately scary! Zombies are my worst nightmare

Welcome Lora! I'm new too Love your spooky artwork! I'm a fan of spooky/scary stuff in general. I like this podcast called My Favorite Murder that combines true crime and comedy.

@jennaivy I'll have to give MFM a listen! I'm not normally into crime because it's a bit too... real, but I've heard it recommended multiple times now.
