Decided to make a new character, it will be a gross little gremlin. Everything you see here was made today!

My hope is to be able to someday make a children's book with little scenes like this and my creepy fairytale characters. No discernible plot, just nice scenes.

@kylebeaudette these are awesome! Do you have access to a kiln or what kind of clay are you using?

@Meg-Clayburn it's polymer clay, you cook it at low temperatures (250 Fahrenheit) in your home oven.

@kylebeaudette you did that with polymer clay?! That's amazing! Polymer clay always cracks on me.

@Meg-Clayburn i use sculpey firm, and I use floral wire with plumbing epoxy on it for an armature. The strong armatures prevent any cracking.

All are these are amazing. I love the knight and the fox models. I think the fox model would be an interesting character to explore for the monthly challenge.

I just discovered an illustrator today, Chris Sickels, who works in 3D sculpture and I instantly thought of you. You've probably already heard of him but just in case I had to send you a link to his website.

@Tiffany-Thomas Ha, yes I know him. He's helped me along as I try to make stuff like this. I had made a little scene using some dollhouse furniture and it looked bad, he convinced me to make everything by hand. He's right, it just works better.

@kylebeaudette totally makes sense to make everything by hand, better continuity in the overall image :).

I love the progress you've made on your character, I can imagine his world and his expression is priceless, lol.

@kylebeaudette funnily enough I've just this week been working on my first attempt at any sculpture with air dry clay to get some creative time away from a screen because I've loved his work for so long. I wish I'd seen your guide before it, I used wooden skewers and tin foil for the structure and I had wait for it to dry for 2 days. No where near your level but it was fun (and frustrating)
