These are the basic skethes for the May Contest "Situation" pieces I plan on making!
Hopefully I ll make it through the deadline.
Old man sure makes mistakes (pic1) but sure is heroic and fearless!!(pic2)Which one do you think works better?

@Georgios-Christopoulos I like the bottom one best as there is a little less text. Are the fish unaware that he is up there ready to jump in as they are all facing away from him, or are they swimming away to escape?

I'm still chugging along on MerMay. :^) I am both very fond of illustrating mermaids, and very ready to be done.
beautiful! i love the playfulness

@burvantill I created Eager Enid as part of a Mermay challenge prompt (eager) and I'm pretty happy with how she turned out. I've made her into a youtube process video series too, I'm working on the last instalment this week.
I'm new to the forum so hoping to get my contest piece in this month, fingers crossed/kids permitting

Just a quick mixed-media sketch to clock the start of Children's Book Pro

I'm starting to do more illustrations about the ocean, this is the first one in the series (and in a brand new sketchbook no less!)

@ajillustrates LOVE IT! (Is that you as a rabbit?)

@Melissa-Bailey-0 Yep! I guess it is kind of a self portrait.

A little faun (or satyr? Is there a difference?)

This months been super busy for me & honestly I was feeling a little creatively drained. Do you ever get to points where you think you've completely run out of ideas and even though you try, nothing seems to work out the way you want? So long story short, I decided to give myself a little break and just try to "fill my creative bank" and @Jake-Parker would say. I looked and looked at all the wonderful art in my collection of books and online (I live in a rural area so no nearby museums or galleries). I went on long walks in the forest and after all that, it was actually 1 illustration by Edward Gorey that pulled me out of my hump, lol. So here is my newest little watercolor lady dressed in her cruelty free, live monster stole and Spring party attire :).

Wrapping up the month with one last little ditty. Put this together during my live stream, then tweaked just a bit afterward.

@PieterVanDerBeek Gefeliciteerd! Congratulations! I love your card. My daughter was born 5 days ago, so I have been also working on a announcement card. It is fun!

@Tiffany-Thomas This is brilliant. I love how you use color and pattern here. This piece is really inspiring!
