@ellenseal14 The only spider I've ever seen that I like lol - I'm terrified of them!

@kylebeaudette awesome, love the feel of traditional media!

Swan princess. I have been working on some fairytale art for my portfolio because I would like to work on a fairytale book someday.

@Melissa-Bailey-0 Thanks! I'm working in procreate & I definitely agree that the brushes make a huge difference! My main problem is that I keep going back and fixing things & try to make them too perfect...but I do that with painting too so...merp.
@Janette Thanks so much! It's tricky to draw spiders cute enough to distract from people's tendency to be repulsed. lol!

@kylebeaudette I love your illustrative style it seems a bit shell sylverstein-ish too me!️

I am working my way through the Picture Book Pro class. -

A Star Wars type thing -
This month I completed a new birthday card design for the retailers who sell my cards (I work traditionally on not-very-traditional Grafix Dura-lar .005 double-sided matte drafting film using mostly colored pencils and pan pastels) I also finally made a template for my social media page banner so I can change it up from time to time. Added the latest birthday card, Teacupcake, to the banner. I discovered that I need to go back and re-learn some art fundamentals (as applied to film) because I still struggle with things like basic shading (I sometimes get black uncontrollable streaks etc). That's what I'll be focusing on for the rest of June.

Hi everyone! The last few months have been rough. I feel like I hit a (incredibly solid) creativity wall as well as a style crisis. I took a break, gathered up some more creative currency, and I think I'm finally moving again. I'm glad I have svs to see the work others like me are creating!

More exploration in watercolour. Laying it down, finding something, then adding to it so it's a character, and finally inking. Fun way to work!
-
@kylebeaudette The texture of the paper matches the freeness of your line-work. What type of paper and ink are you using?
-
@demotlj The pastel colors are charming. the bluebird looks quite curious. Nice work!
-
@Becky the paper is arches, the pen is a pentel art technical pen. Thanks!

Wrapping it up for the month of June by getting my calendar project on its feet! I purchased a new Canon Pixma Pro-200 printer, got myself some double-sided matte 11x17 paper, and finally turned my attention to getting my upcoming 2022 Bird calendar done. I'm beyond excited about my printer, and after plunking down a pretty penny on shipping supplies, I'm now potentially buying one of those fancy-schmancy binding machines to put in the holes and a metal coil in the top for the flip... This project has been more than a year in the making, and it's finally reaching fruition. It's so close to being completed I can taste it!

@Coreyartus Congrats on your project!

@kylebeaudette How fun! I'm trying watercolor too this week
