@HollyOakley Thank you!!! Do you think as an illustrator trying to convey a concept- a story, a situation… the emotion… also all that plays out like some form of animation in your head? The task now is what drives me to break that down. Then, from this place our job is to create a clear image from a stream of events? I am finding I really struggle with this, starting from a thumbnail then getting to further details and then what I thought initially was awesome just doesn’t work once I see the illustration progress.

Do you have ways they handle this weird impasse?

I think the story concept and humour is super cool. However in the picture, I find it not immediately obvious that the hanging pants and the flying pants belonged to the birds. It looked like it could be someone else's pants that got stuck. Perhaps try a bunch of different positions for the pants and you can hit gold with the secondary story...
