      Flight of the Grumble Bees!

Another more or less finished portfolio piece. Let me know how I can improve it!

@Asyas_illos thank you! I ran into a few obstacles with it but learned some great new techniques as a result!

@Griffin my kids really love your work, they say it looks like it could be in shows, and I agree. Your work to me reminds me a little bit of adventuretime. Have you considered animation?

@Asyas_illos that makes me so happy to hear that your kids enjoy it! Funny you mention shows because as I’ve been working on portfolio ideas I’ve been thinking that they feel like they belong to cartoons rather than books. I don’t think I’d enjoy animation but perhaps working with an animation studio as a visdev artist would be fun. The thing with visdev is that it’s more concept art than narrative and I really want to tell stories with my art. Certainly not crossing that off the list though, I think I just need to learn more about it.

i really like the progress you are going through with your work all the time, i am looking forwoard to, when i get to that point.

Maybe you could make the wings a bit more transperent? or a little bit less bright? i don't know what it is, but for me it's not there yet.

But i love it already!!! 🙂

@Griffin this is marvelous! I absolutely love it because I feel that I've never seen this before (which can be rare in kidlit art) - great job with the color picking and the lighting!

The only thing that I found when looking at it a little harder are the hands of the girl in the orange-ish sweater. There is this impression I get that they aren't really grabbing onto the bee as maybe they should be, but I also feel like I'm being picky.

I really struggled to find something to suggest to change. This is an awesome piece!
