@ArtistErin haha it was actually something my daughter drew on there and the little spider. I did originally sketch a flowerpot but it didn’t make the final cut I guess.

Yes I’m still messing with this one🙄 added some more but still lacking characters… what do you guys think of the added dandelions? Also I’ll take suggestions for characters😊

@Asyas_illos Absolutely love these mouse illustrations! I'm not sure about the dandelions but I wonder whether you could have a large head of a gentle deer (for example) sniffing one of the mushrooms? Might be too distracting but for some reason I'm curious about it! 🙂

@Jean-Watson thank you and I’ve since gone from yellow dandelions to floofy ones! And I like them much better , but I also messed with the mushrooms and I’m not sure why but I just can’t totally love this one yet it still needs something…

@Asyas_illos maybe you could let him throw away his map or compass? Or have some cat leering at him from some hidden position? I like these dandallions more, they are softer, fitting the rest better.

@Asyas_illos This is really cute. I love the colors and the composition.
If you squint your eyes, the mouse gets lost in the background a little, and I see the mushrooms first because of their value. I made it black and white below to show how close the values are between the mouse and background. You could make the mouse darker since the light is coming from the right, so the left will be partially shaded anyway, or you could put a light cool blue-green color behind the mouse to make the reddish orange stand out.
It is a nice piece and I love all the nature elements you are using. Can't wait to see the finished piece.

@Asyas_illos I love this as a start of your series! The little mouse looking at his atlas and dreaming of all the places he'd like to go. And then he makes his dreams a reality!

@Kim-Rosenlof thanks for the value check! That’s really helpful, I’ve put this one on the back burner for now but I’ll revisit it soon!
