i'm finally working on a story and developing this character, actually based on myself...
i would like to do a zine or something, just to get comfortable with me writing something and make the illustrations for it...(told myself i'm no writer at all, but i remeber i had a lot of fun writing when i was younger, i just forgot about it)
Also today i got the news (since i'm going to school again to be a kindergarten teacher) that i got into the workshop how to develope, tell and write stories for children! I didnt expect that they would make such a fitting Workshop... its like the universe is telling me i got everything on place and am on track!

Not perfect... but FINISHED
Inspired by a fun family jumping photo of my 10-year old twins and me, I created this action-packed scene. In this moment, I envisioned three heroes pursuing a crime lord who is very frustrated that his henchmen can't stop the trio.
Really happy with this creative journey so far!

@Kristen-Lango awesome! Every time I've been brave enough to completely re-paint something again I've ended up being happier with the result. Sort of like I had to get the "bad" version out of me before I could do the best version. LOL!

I'm in the same boat with writing, I used to do it a lot when I was younger, but got out of the habit with busy adult life. I've recently started writing PB manuscripts though, and have been surprised at how just it comes back. You might find the same.

I love this cover so much (and it's one of my favorite books series of all time). WELL DONE!
Kudos how you captured Edmund's original character mindset in this illustration. I can imagine new readers would find that expression puzzling and very interesting - enough for them to grab the cover and give the book a read.

Ever wonder how characters make it on home decor, such as pillows?

Busy working on four chess 'certificates' for a client who runs a chess business for schools - to give out at tournaments. I'm loving it but really flying by the seat of my pants because I really didn't expect to get any illustration work this year. It was all meant to be study. So scary but fun!
Client fortunately loves what I've sent her so far. I've used Photoshop brushes for the leaves but honestly still getting used to Photoshop and it's taking ages as it is!
I was basically given free rein but each stream from participation to high distinction gets its own colour (this one is orange/red - doesn't have to be the only colour) and has a power progression (in terms of the value of the pieces in chess). I've made them all playful landscapes with chessboards. Feedback welcome. I thought the blue sky was a bit extreme so have changed it.

) I'm starting to feel like I'm assaulting people's eyes hahaha -
@Melissa_Bailey I can't remember if I already replied to your "Once Upon a Nighttime" cover, but it is so beautiful! It's tender and sweet and has such delicacy to it with that little mouse holding his acorn. I honestly couldn't dream of a better children's book cover than this.
