More sketches for my steampunk story 🙂 Finnick is like a nerdy scholar dude that relates every topic to a book he’s reading lol

Hi all, here are a couple of things I've been working on. I put some designs up on Spoonflower.
I've lost some motivation lately though, not sure what's going on. Feels like I've hit a wall. Hope I can work through it because I want to make lots more of this stuff and figure out how to actually sell things.

@tomparsonsart These look really great! 😍 Aw, that's a horrible feeling. I hope you break through your wall soon. I find that happening to me usually when I've had a smooth run of creative things going well and then I get tripped up by my own rebellious subconscious not wanting to do all the to-do's on my To Do list. I have many good intentions, but want to run away from them all. 🥴

Not a children’s illustration, but a hired illustration gig. I got to illustrate a podcast, and it was super fun!

i made something for school. Its called a Learning Map (Lernlandkarte in German)

i spend quite some time on its, while i had do read everything about the Topic Literacy for Children and other literature, i can use to create my map.

its also possible to click on the different topics, so my Teacher is able to identify the sources.
You can have a look if you want, not that many of you could read the texts but i think its a realy nice tool though.
Have anyone of you ever used genial.ly?
Its cool, you can upload pictures of your own and generate clicable info pages, links and stuff. It looks like a really nice tool for teachers to generate cool content for their class to learn with

I'm slowly building a picture book illustration portfolio from scratch using spreads from book dummies I've written & sketched out. Here's one I've just finished from this month, my third piece overall. Only 9 to go before I can create my initial portfolio and start submitting to agents 😳

@Jason-Crowley I love all the little details like where she's drawn on the wall, and the ball of eyeballs... 😄 The incredibly blissful teddy is adorable.

@Richy-s-ayala I like it a lot! The sky is particularly beautiful. 😍
Since you've asked, I hope I won't get in trouble for giving some random suggestions here:
I'm particularly drawn to the boy with the umbrella, but feel like he doesn't stand out as much as he maybe should if he's a main focus. If he isn't a main focus, maybe all the people could contrast more with their background? It's awesome that he has a sky blue umbrella!
The ground: I love that you've added some interesting colours and textures to it, but there's quite a lot of it so it feels like the picture kinda disappears at the bottom. What would happen if you added some foreground silhouettes or cropped some of it away? You could maybe crop lots of ground and add more sky?
But even if you ignore all this completely, I think it's a lovely piece to add to your portfolio as is.
And many thanks for your help with mine earlier!

@Richy-s-ayala Oh, I also just noticed: the boy and the man with the crate are both facing out towards the edge of the picture, if they faced in that might keep the viewer's eye exploring the illustration for longer.
