Ugh I thought it was Wonder instead of Wander.

“I was entranced by the bottle's curve. One touch, and my skin adhered to it, pulling me inside. As I became a distorted display, onlookers only admired the 'art,' oblivious to my silent screams.”

@katsuds Oh yes! I know that feeling! That's why I gave up doing line-work altogether. 😄 I now use a lot more shape without outlines, or I skip the pencil and go straight to drawing it, usually using something more unpredictable than a pen (eg. paintbrush, old dip-pen, or a stick). I've learnt to embrace the wonky mess that results. 😅

@katsuds Not sure how applicable it pertains to your situation, but your line work isn't terrible! And I had some thoughts for you.

Preface: For my work, I had/have to stop and slow down. Then methodically think about each press and release of the pen and sometimes that's going really slow. Like PAINFULLY slow.

              1. Proko had this segment about line quality that stuck with me, while penciling, your ghosting the stroke before it hits the canvas. Now obviously, you can't do that with inking, potentially, however you might try a small ink brush and practice just doing thick to thin lines or "ghost" the line before you touch the paper. Examine your current pace and then determine what pace makes the lines have the highest quality and appeal that you'd prefer. If that makes sense. This is also easier to practice like in Procreate where you make lines and undo it till it's satisfactory.

              2. It could just be the tool you're using and not necessarily you. Because the only issue I see, based off of what you pointed out, is the lines aren't variant. They're all the same weight. It appears they're all the same maximum press of the brush you're using. Almost like am Adobe Illustrator Stroke line.

              3. Maybe practice having lines smaller in thickness and then thicken the line in only specific areas and see how that looks? So that's a paradigm shift in your process of drawing, you know? Start with small lines, then "blop" in more thicker parts?

You can take these notes however way you like it. Hope it helps.

Whipped up two today since I only had a sketch for “Wander” ready by midnight last night. Thinking I’ll do another “Spicey” with an illustrative concept at some point instead of the literal once I did.IMG_0325.jpeg IMG_0323.jpeg

Great job, I know exactly what happened and what’s going to happen with showing just one action!

@braydin-hawlette I love the narrative for this! And the skulls?!?!?! UGH I love skulls! The first kid, left, I love that you drew even his little foot pulled up in reaction to the spicy flavor.

@alexw Good advice. Thanks for the response. I definitely need to practice and be ok with the process of being a beginner inker. Definitely used to photoshop where I can just fix anything at anytime. I also overthink my lines when inking and it shows. When I use pencil, I know it can be fixed so I draw with more confidence. Me and my pens have a love hate relationship. More hate some days than others.
