hello from Australia

Hello everyone,
My name is Julia and I am just beginning my creative journey. I all started 5 years ago in Paris when I took some drawing courses taught by a self-made artist. I learnt to observe and played with different media. 2 years ago I moved to Australia. I was lucky enough to take short courses at the National Art School that I enjoyed tremendously.One day, I was telling stories to my little nephew and niece on Skype: they laughed so hard that I decided to write the text and draw the illustrations. I was lucky enough to find a community of like-minded people who helped me a great deal to be accountable and progress with my drawings. Unfortunately life caught up with me and I am not able anymore to join this community during the time they meet.
Therefore I am hoping to find like-minded people here to help me with my project (it is currently at a stop).
Like many, I discovered this forum through the (excellent) podcasts : although I don't want to be an illustrator, I am fascinated by people who are courageous enough to take that path. It is a door-opener to a new world for me! It seems that everyone is really devoted to their art and talented! I'll be happy and grateful to be among you.

@julia Welcome, Julia! I'd love to see your project so far. I am also not a professional illustrator but love to learn and work on my own book projects, etc. You will find a lot of good help on this forum! I have been on here for quite a while now.

Many thanks all for your warm welcome messages! As I never posted anything online and don't have social media profiles, it will take a bit of time to show you my work (I also need to fix my scanner). I will post here and there on the forum and put links in my signature when everything is set up.
Meanwhile I am enjoying reading the forum and seeing your art pieces (Instagram is great for that!). There is so much diversity! Keep it up!
