Really great! Loved all the story telling tips. Never really thought too much about your timeline and maximizing the best moment to create the most dynamic piece.

And... you teased about the second installment of licensing with Gina Sellers being posted. Is that still set to come out soon? Cause I’m dying to see it.

This was really really helpful. I've been trying to articulate specific differences between straight-up "Art" and illustration, and you were able to help fill in some of the puzzle. It's always fun to hear you guys get off topic because the advice you're giving is really rich and potent (?), so much so that I have to digest things for a long while after listening to your podcasts. Listening to them more than once always reveals new stuff to me. Thanks for doing these!! Can't wait to see the video versions!!

Thank you for this nice episode. I always enjoy listening to- and learning from you and this topic gave me a lot of things to think about- which at the end will hopefully help me to improve my art.
Btw. Jake, you are right,- we Germans do have a word for it: "Zugtreppe". You are welcome :smiling_face_with_open_mouth_smiling_eyes: .

Thanks for sharing your experiences and knowledge with us.

You guys are a hoot! I was sitting here brainstorming on how to make my MerMay contest art tell a story when I found this thread. How cool is that? I also like the idea of a video version as I'm more of a visual learner. I really appreciate your hard work. Thanks guys!

@Sara-Hickman great idea! I’ll have to look back and see if there is anything up his alley. He’s handy but not artsy. 😊

All three of them are very silly humans

The thingy that helped me with storytelling is reading stories, and also will eisners books on visual narrative. I may have to revisit them and maybe help me reinforce some of the things i learned from svslearn.

@burvantill the one about the art failures where Will tells the story about drawing the turtle is the one we listened too.

@Whitney-Simms I’ll second that. I’ve taken several licensing courses but learned more in this short course than several others combined!

@Jake-Parker Just a random side note to this episode. I just listened to it for a second time and I was cracking up at the stories you guys had about snow. We live in Alaska and one of the first things I learned when I moved here was that the Inuit people have something like 50 different words for snow. (hardened icy snow, softly falling, flurries, blizzarding, the slushie stuff...) Just thought I'd share that little tidbit.
