I'm gonna do the giant robot. Then the eye if there's time since I really like it. But I think Godzilla (a recognizable godzilla) needs to be in the picture somewhere. I guess it all depends. Is it a wise idea to rely on the title of the picture to be part of the storytelling?

Anyhoo! Here's a rough sketch of the giant robot. Next step is linework πŸ™‚

@Braden-Hallett You are killing it as usual, this looks awesome! I don’t think it is absolutely necessary for Godzilla to be in the composition as the focus is on the challenger, but I do think it works here if you want to include it. I think it works just as well without it though. Lol, that’s probably not helpful sorry.

Oh wow, I actually love all 3 of your compositions, they all look so fun! I think my favourite is the robot one, i just love the kids face in the foreground and all the little details you've put in - and i've just noticed Godzilla's silhouette in the background, AMAZING!

@Braden-Hallett I'm so glad you went with the robot one. It was my favourite, I love the godzilla silhouette in the background and your use of perspective πŸ™‚

@Braden-Hallett this is a really great composition. You have really grown in your work. I thought it was great when we first met, but you are killing it. Your storytelling is phenomenal. Your style is instantly recognizable. Way to go!

Robot is great, can be a great challenger, just DON'T use radioactive energy in the robot; Godzilla get stronger with that! hahaha... great composition

I redid the inks. I'm probably the only one who can really tell the difference as usual :smiling_face_with_open_mouth_closed_eyes: I've been doing a few things to consciously try and make the linework as high quality as possible before colouring. I often fall into the 'fix it in post' mentality' which really leads to the piece suffering later on.

A few things I've been doing include turning off brush stabilization, working at the size the work will be viewed (so around 50%) instead of zooming in, and this time around reeeeeeally slowing down and turning off brush calibration.

I'm not gonna redo it again, I'm just gonna move on πŸ™‚

@Braden-Hallett It is looking nice, but I am finding the much more extensive patchwork of metal distracting. I love the stop sign touch though. It might even out more with coloring.

Just thought I would give you a heads up on what I am seeing.

@theprairiefox That's good to know! Those lines'll fade away with colour and value. I'm in that strange transitional period where my linework either needs more texture or has way too much πŸ™‚ Someday that proper middle ground'll click into place, but not today.

Back to the basic value structure. Next is local value and shading.
