He ate it. The gophers in California are bigger than a hamster but smaller than a guinea pig, or the size of a large russet potato . He shook it about for a while until it stopped wiggling then swallowed it whole like he would a fish. It’s amazing to watch them hunt. They move so slow right up until they strike, almost like a snake. And if they miss they act like a cat that fell off a table, “I totally meant to do that”
@Erin-Cortese I think you would feel differently if you could see what they do to your yard.

This is my last post until October. I am going hiking on mountains. I am bringing a sketchbook so we’ll see how much I get accomplished.

I think from day to day I'm gonna pick a texture to work on and apply it to all the shapes.
Maybe I'll make the shapes bigger...

@burvantill I know what you mean about the gophers, this summer I found myself yelling at rabbits for stealing my pea seedlings. I probably sounded like a maniac!

Round 2 texture...
These exercises are all referenced from the aforementioned book, wish I could say they were my own. It has been really great to work from reference, it frees up my brain to really zone in on the line work!

Keep messing around with the sumie brush. There is a lot of different textures can be achieved, and I am scratching the surface of it.

Yeah im definitely gonna check out that hatching course. Right now im penciling comic trying to stay ahead of inktober at the same time.
