      Hey everyone. @Will-Terry @Jake-Parker @Lee-White
When working on picture book illustrations, especially for print I think I am working way too big.
Is this reference a good example? Thanks, I really need help with this.

As a general rule, what ever your finished sized will be when printed, just make sure it’s at least 300 pixels/inch resolution. I scan most of my stuff at 600 because I’ve had people come back and want to use images for larger things (posters) than what was originally intended. And you can only enlarge so much without it going south. If you can work larger, I say just keep doing it and only save a copy at the target resolution when you give it to your client. So when ultimately they come back because it’s so good and they need posters made, you can say, oh sure no problem, that’ll be 💰💰💰😜

@burvantill LOL thanks. I have been working way to big, my background is in creating large scale art for museums and my computer was not coping well with double page spreads. Time to scale down. 🙃

yep, when I'm working digitally I just work at 100% of printed size. So typically around 8x10 or so for single page and 16x10 for spreads (at 300 ppi).
