FEBRUARY CONTEST: NIGHTFALL
-
Here's mine.
-
Here's my first ever entry - created with watercolour and oil pastels. My image is part of a story about a boy who has gone to bed poorly. Illustration is not something I'm used to doing so it will be a learning curve for me - looking forward to getting out of my comfort zone though and trying all the classes and joining in the forum.

Hi guys!
Here's my entry. I thought it would be a good opportunity to practice with traditional tools...

@Rachel-Horne
Thank You! -
I got started a bit late this month so I opted to go with a simple design. Hope you guys like it! I intended to paint a city, but for some reason, the countryside always comes out!
-
Hey guys!
Wow, so many awesome entries, again! Thanks everyone who voted on my poll. Appreciate it. Here's my final piece.
The thief snickered at how easy it was to break into the mansion at nightfall. The garage was left wide open. He snatched and looted stealthily, stuffing his backpack. Grinning, he slipped out the front door. And met his worst nightmare - Super Skunk.
-
Hereโs my February entry. I changed it up last minute because I couldnโt seem to get my first idea right. Good luck everyone!
-
Hello everyone, almost missed the deadline, again
I`ts my first time participating, hope you like it, and any feedback is welcome!
-
I happened to be working on a night time piece before even knowing the theme! It was fun to practice hand lettering!
-
(Edit: Almost blew it, left my jewelry and pink layer off. Need to double check things, I was so excited.)
Went for a full spread this time.
So many amazing entries.. With each contest everyone just gets better and better.

Hello, I'm new to the forum. This is my first post and submission to the monthly contest. This is my entry- Mission Objective: Save Squizzard. by Paul Terpstra @paul_gt4.09.23
This is an idea from the midpoint of a comic ill work on one day. The idea is these characters have previously escaped. But now must return to save their friend before its too late. I haven't painted a night time scene before so was excited for the challenge. Learnt that I defiantly need more practice at it. But very happy with what I've done.
I worked on this traditionally in watercolour. I dont have a scanner and getting a photo of this was a nightmare. Some of it is cut on the edges to fit.
Comments welcome. Have enjoyed seeing others entries and watching others process. I've been too busy to get involved on the forum. But I hope to get more into in soon.

This is my submission for the February Contest. The child is dreaming, and so is the moon. It was illustrated using watercolors and watercolor pencils.

Here is mine, a spread from a picture book I illustrated last year. I really wanted to make something new for this prompt but there were just not enough time this month but I hope you like this one and good luck everyone! -
Intended for an exhibition but it works for this months contest too. Traditional mixed media.
-
Here is my entry. A good time to work out those Procreate muscles! I look forwards to one day being as comfortable with digital as I am with traditional.
