Our SVS Virtual Studio APRIL 2020π°
-
This month I've been working on some new portfolio pieces. This one is based on The Fisherman and the Genie from One Thousand and One Nights. I'm pretty happy with it, I love drawing fish for some reason -
@johnchoi oh thank you very much!! I really enjoy your watercolour pieces on your Instagram page
-
@Annabishop It is really beautiful! The patterns in the fish and in the waves complement each other. I'd like to see more.
-
On the way to the swimmin' hole.
Kid in the middle's totally gonna lose those trunks.
-
@Coley Thanks
-
@Heather-Boyd Thank you Heather! Perhaps if I have time I can make it into a series of images
-
I'm waffling between having a very strictly codified process with different layers at different times and just, well, painting.
This was just painted on one layer
-
@Braden-Hallett all one layer? Who does that?! LoL. Kidding. Looks great
-
-
Tried my hand at @Lee-White s 5 engine parts. I have no experience even looking at an engine. These are car engines. And there is so much variety.
-
My studio for this month π₯° a change of scenery. I have been loving getting messy and spreading out compared to working on a little screen.
-
@Annabishop Thank you, Anna! Your Genie and Fisherman piece is so captivating!! Love the shapes and colors. And I could tell you had a great time drawing so many different kinds of fish! Really well done!
-
I'm thinking April's prompt is gonna be another last second effort.
-
This book cover came out of the Ideation class. It has been more difficult than necessary because I did the front first and then decided to wrap it around (which required a lot of redrawing), but it's all a learning process! Not finished yet (still needs some tweaks and adjustments), but getting close...
-
remixed my palette so I've got a nice green to work with now
-
I have three things on the go, which is pretty cool. Still playing with contest submission, things I want to change but I dont know what lol. Iβm just continually picking at it and seeing if I can figure it out. And for a Harry Potter fan art piece Iβm playing with using masks to reveal shapes and textures and thinking about comp etc. Early stages but hereβs where I am. And then putting in local colours for some characters Iβm working on for a possible book collab with a friend , good practice at characters even if nothing happens with the book.
-
@aprilshin Very nice!
-
@Coley love the story in the first and the working style in the second
-
@Heather-Boyd thanks . Iβm preferring that style in the second one too ( similar to the kitty looking out the window I did last week). Some things are a changing for me and my style soon I think
-
@ajillustrates Thank you, AJ!!
