      @carlossketches Funny concept!

      I don't know how I got to this point in life without knowing Santa could fly on his beard--I feel like my whole childhood was a lie.

        hehe, too cute! It may help to make his beard a bit wider, maybe make it look like it's supporting the bag a bit more? I cant wait to see it colored!!

          Hi @carlossketches! This is a fun idea, completely different! I think to make it work you need to go more crazy with Santa's beard....at the moment Santa is a little hunched and his sack isn't sitting on anything...what if you made the beard REALLY long, as if it has grown magically for the purpose, and extends right under him like a flowing magic carpet... I think if you go a bit crazy with it with swirling hair and lots of magic dust underneath, it will be great 🙂

            @mattramsey we know his nose is magical: "And laying his finger aside of his nose,
            And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose" but the real reason is the hair inside the nose. 🙂

              @Lynn-Larson thank you, yup I want to color this but my painting skills are lacking. so I will do what I can with my vector program Pages on the Mac. Here's a video of another Christmas drawing I made with it: https://vimeo.com/80345925

                @Dulcie thank you, great suggestion. I will see how far I can push his beard. Magical dust incoming!!

                    Hate to say it Carlos after all your work on this, but I prefer the 3/4 view, more weight to the image, and charm... I do like the beard changes in the new piece. Kind of has a back end of the sleigh effect to it...

                      @Bobby-Aquitania that's okay, I'm still playing with the idea. Better to make the mistakes now then when I'm finishing up the piece. I've worked some pieces to death when a couple of sketches would have saved me hours of frustration. Thanks for the feedback!!

                        watched your video...really cool!! I've never seen vector done before. I admit, i like the 3/4 view better as well. I think if you have his beard disappearing under the bag and popping out it will help the look that it's supporting the bag

                          I like the 3/4 view as well. It seems more dynamic. Who thought that Santa's beard would come in handy.

                                      @carlossketches Congrats on finishing your first digital painting! Great achievement....I'm glad you re-worked it to keep the 3/4 view and added the extra length to the beard. It's got a nice appealing style overall...time to do a second piece now! 😉
