MAY CONTEST: ISOLATION
-
@sarahlash Wow, thanks! Glad you like it!
-
@Chip-Valecek Isolation has been good to us here in New Zealand for the most part. I like peace and quiet anyway so this is how I imagine my fantasy isolation space and perfect studio accompanied, of course, by my animals.
-
@TessaW I edited it and now my name appears on the bottom!
-
Here's my submission remade with a name on the bottom this time.
-
@JudeKillory I really like you style! Is this done in acrylic?
-
@Joshua-Dages Thank You Joshua! It was done with gouache. Might be my favorite medium. It lives between watercolor and acrylic in a beautiful matte and opaque area. Dries fast and plays well with other mediums. Mary Blair did a lot of work in gouache.

@mikorad thanks! it's actually a set I photographed. It's entirely paper, painted with gouache and drawn on with marker (and added the text digitally)
-
@ArtofAleksey thank you, yours is beautifully rendered and super funny
-
@jdubz I love this one. So atmospheric and the colour palette is gorgeous!
-
@Corlaart gorgeous!
-
@JudeKillory Yay!
-
@Dana-Eastes I was really feeling it when I started this. I was thinking of my dad in his isolation, family can stand outside but no contact. He's not a hugger, but I can tell he really wants a hug from us.
-
ok, first time posting my art work or entering a competition. im not one for sharing or social media but im going to try put stuff out there in the wild more.
so heres my entry for the comp this month
. -
@James-Toogood Wow, I really love this. The idea of using the reflection like that is terrific!
-
@James-Toogood this is really lovely
-
Here is my entry for the contest. As you can tell I am not a big fan of this extended isolation, but the SVS classes have been a great outlet!
-
@TheTarheelYankee I really struggled getting the file size down and now it’s super blurry and loses a ton of detail. Do you guys usually start with a smaller canvas size for these contests?
-
@TheTarheelYankee Doesn't look blurry to me!
