Vehicle Design course

These are my different thumbnails for the air ship. The first set are the gesture thumbnails. The second set are the asymmetry thumbnails. The third are the non vehicle versions, and the fourth are the regular thumbnails.

Here is my air ship drawing. Another Egg man related vehicle. This one is the egg-fighter.

@Jim-Gleeson looks like you had fun -lots of experimenting and varriety
-
@Heather-Boyd I did, thanks!
-
Hi thanks for making this class. I was intimidated by vehicles, though I am enjoying the class, you make them fun to draw. I did the first assignment and look forward to doing more.
On a side not my perspective is something I struggle with though dealing with mechanical things such as cars and boats have been helping me think about perspective more.

Excellent course!!!! It took me out of my comfort zone, so heres my final design for the course and the boat assignment, c&c is very welcome!!!!
-
@shanehunt, thank you for the great course!
For my final vehicle design, I decided to go with a flying 70’s corvette with some Mad Max body armor and inspirations from the delorean of Back to the Future.
I’ve never done anything like this, so it was fun trying something different.

@Gas-Docs really really cool.
-
This is the sketch for my vehicle design final and my thumbnails. I'm going to do a finished drawing with environment and characters but wanted to post the vehicle here in its raw state. My plan is to have moss, grass and trees growing all around it. And rabbits using it as a home/ playground. -
Here's my assignment 1, part 1! Drawing cars wasn't quite as intimidating as I thought it would be.
-
@burvantill This is super cute! Did you end up finishing the piece?
-
@baileymvidler I’m still working on it. A little bit whenever I have time. The rabbits are done and now I’m starting on the moss. Lol! It’s developed a life of its own. I’ll post my progress in the June virtual studio tonight.
PS your black line cars are super cool

@shanehunt Here's my aircraft for Assignment 5 inspired by a sewing machine. Went through a second set of silhouettes after deciding on my non-vehicle inspiration and I think that helped. Used the bobbin holder mechanism as an inspiration for the little ships to keep with the theme. Really enjoying the course. This is my first post so hopefully it's in the right spot and goes up ok.

@ArtofAleksey wow! Love the shape of the house/cabin and the texture of the wood. NICE
-
@Mairin-Kareli oh thanks!
-
I'm finally done!! ...Well, I'm calling it at least. Finished not perfect, right?
My vehicle design final. It took me so long because I've been practicing my digital skills at the same time. I not only wanted a vehicle design image, but a full illustration that I could use in my portfolio. I'm content. -
@burvantill This deserves some applause! It's such a dreamy magical atmosphere with such a fun scenario!
-
@TessaW Thankyou very much.
-
@Joe-King I really like it, Joe! Great idea and solid execution. I think you just need to tighten up your perspective accuracy with things like the front curve of the ship and the engines. Nice job.
-
@Jeremy-Ross Hey Jeremy, sorry I haven't responded sooner. I wasn't getting notifications that I was getting tagged! I love your work ethic and all the designs you're pushing through. I'd love to see some of these without color, though. The colors and shading are a bit distracting from the designs. The other comment I'd make is that your line weights are all kinda uniform. Consider varying up your line weights to define the most important shapes and then stuff like the little polygon defining lines on this car could be much thinner and maybe even vanishing occasionally.
Great work!
