@djlambson Thank you so much Deborah!

I'm amazed by all the entries! Fantastic work folks!
Here's my little interpretation of the theme for this month I had fun experimenting with some different kinds of inking(ink pens and indonesian ink), but the final result is edited digitally so it's become a mixed media thing. I hope that's okay!

I Actually got it done! Whew! I didn't think I was going to find the time this month to enter, but I already had my inks and pens out practicing for inktober so it just worked out! I actually found this prompt a lot more difficult than I thought it would be.

Here is my ink fairy. It started out as a 3 color lithograph. See my feed to see the two drafts side by side.

Here is my take on Septembers art contest. With a hint of evilness but hopefully not too brutal.

@Coley Thank you so much! It's been a minute since I've shaken off the writing dust, but since joining an online roleplay guild it's been drawing me back into its weirding ways.

Hi! This is my first time submitting.
My Story:
Ellie first saw an Ink Fairy when she was 4. No one believed her. For years she tried to prove it. She couldn't see them again but she would feel their presence when drawing. They were always behind her. She couldn't snap a photo until selfie cameras were invented. She closed her eyes and the Ink Fairy appeared. -
-
@Gaelle-Grizzly im in love with this.
-
Here is my entry. I loved seeing all the different ideas that everyone came up with! I especially loved to see how people used ink traditionally or digitally; there are so many great techniques!

Exhausted from a day of school, Emily sipped her bubble tea and was about to place her bags down when the elusive Ink Fairy was found doodling on her calendar. In total shock and surprise, as if instinctive, Emily tapped her phone to capture a glimpse of the ink fairy before it disappeared around the corner. The picture fit neatly in her great grandfather's compendium of fairies, An Ordinary Guide to the Extraordinary: Fae, Goblins and Dwarves Understood by Sir Donald Guptill. Emily imagined her great grandad smiling in the portrait hanging above the kitchen doorway. Their work was complete, but now Emily had to clean up the mess left behind. Ugh!
Artist note: highly inspired by both the work of Tony DiterLizzi in Spiderwick Chronicles and the ever creative mind of Brian Froud, I had a fun time imagining how they would design an Ink Fairy. I'm not sure I pushed the design enough but I like the wings being shaped like fountain pen nibs. I'm not very great at inking, I kind of just winged this, so any feedback would be appreciated!
